This conference is organised by The Greater Mekong Society of Local Plant Conservation under the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund (Focal year 2022).This conference endeavors to bring together participants from around the world to underscore the significance of almost forgotten and underutilised edible plants. The thematic areas encompass crop diversity, ethnobotanical studies, cultural food, nutritional and phytochemical importance, breeding and omics approaches, as well as physiological and molecular responses to environmental cues in various underutilised edible crops. Research related to edible flowers will be encouraged in the conference. The event will comprise diverse sessions, including keynote addresses, plenary sessions, invited lectures, oral and poster presentations, and workshops. The overarching goal is to promote interdisciplinary exchange, fostering new collaborations that communicate the evidence and opportunities presented by currently underutilised crops for the benefit of societies worldwide.
